D-Tech Project Team: info@egedtech.com

When considering Deep-Tech it is easiest to look at past successes – the world-wide web, the Biontech vaccine against Covid-19 and the mobile phone camera. Each were entirely new to market and dramatically disrupted existing scientific and technological solutions. The Deep-tech research and products of today will disrupt future markets, with corresponding benefits to humanity and to their originators.

To qualify, your business must be a legal entity which has been registered for less than 3 years and if not already a tenant of the Ege Teknopark, you must be willing to register there.

Application should be made online at egedtech.acceleratorapp.co. Once evaluated and accepted for support, your project will have up to 4 phases available, beginning with a broad assessment of your technology, markets, and patenting potential, then moving on to three further phases which will consider your product’s technical and market potential and culminating in the development of a package for presentation to potential investors. Some applicants will also be selected to visit potential markets overseas.

The costs will be met under a joint agreement between the European Union and the Turkish Government. There is therefore no cost to applicants, although your professional time will be needed if you are to make the best use of the consultancy and mentoring time provided.

The consultancy and mentoring work will be undertaken by carefully selected and qualified individuals who have been chosen for their scientific and technical background and expertise. You will be involved in the final selection of the individuals concerned before they are formally appointed.

The mentors come from a variety of backgrounds, scientific, technical, academic and commercial.

  • You will be allowed to work at your own pace, but it is expected that Phase 1 will take around 1 month and the remainder up to 6 months for most applicants.

The program is product-based, and it is therefore essential that you will have at least reached Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 3 – a lab-based working prototype.

The previous questions set out the basic requirements. It will not therefore be possible to serve newly established businesses unless they can qualify against the given criteria.
