As part of the Ege D-Tech Commercialization Program, three deep-tech startups — Skymod, Materix, and BPREG — conducted an international collaboration visit to the United Kingdom from February 17 to 21, 2025. The intensive five-day program aimed to strengthen global ties by enabling the startups to meet with top technology firms, investors, and public sector stakeholders across England and Scotland.
☁️ Skymod: Strategic Engagements in AI and Digital Systems
Skymod held one-on-one meetings with a diverse group of prominent organizations, including MWJ, Bloomberg, Oracle, Buckingham Technologies, SAS, EY Pantheon, Ozstrategic, EFT Associates, and TATA. The startup also took part in the Mindstone London AI Networking Event, where it engaged with influential players in the UK artificial intelligence community. These connections marked a pivotal step toward scaling Skymod’s smart systems and digital infrastructure solutions across international markets.
🧪 Materix: Materials Science Meets Industry and Academia
Materix kicked off its UK tour by participating in the IC2NM (International Conference on Nanomaterials and Materials), hosted at the Heston Hyde Hotel. The team then held meetings with organizations such as Buckingham Technologies, Cardinal Rock, Mott MD, Fractional Leader, and BG in Manchester and Edinburgh. By bridging academic knowledge with industrial applications, Materix advanced its mission to introduce next-generation materials solutions to the European market.
🚲 BPREG: Showcasing Lightweight Composites to the UK Industrial Sector
BPREG focused its visit on engaging with leading manufacturers and engineering companies in the field of lightweight composites. Meetings were held with Ainsworth Paddles, TRB Lightweight, Komodobikes, Far Composites, Composite Brading, Dennis Eagle, and Airbone, spanning locations such as Nottingham, Derby, Warwick, and London. These interactions provided BPREG with valuable opportunities to present its high-performance materials to potential partners in the mobility and transportation industries.

Co-funded by the European Union and the Republic of Türkiye, the Ege D-Tech Project continues to elevate Türkiye’s deep-tech startups by fostering meaningful international engagement. The UK visit represented a major step forward in the global integration of Turkish innovation, empowering startups to build strategic partnerships, attract investment, and contribute to sustainable growth.
