The second Capacity Building Training for Startups, within the framework of Ege D-Tech Project, implemented by Ege Teknopark, focusing on “Deep-Tech Financing and Investment” was held at Ege University AROM Project Centre, on 8 – 9 December 2022.
The purpose of the capacity-building training series is to provide the necessary training to support startups to proceed on their entrepreneurial journey successfully, as well as to increase their market opening and international competitiveness capacities. The training programme concluded with a question-answer session in which the participants actively interacted with each other and the trainers. During the training, the participants were informed by the trainers with both theoretical knowledge and practical examples on the concepts such as funds, EU Grants, Investment Opportunities, and Early-Stage Investment. At the end of the training, a pitching session was held with the participation of four participant companies. The pitch decks of startups were evaluated by the trainers and Project Key Experts. The training was conducted in English, and it offered significant practical knowledge to the startups operating in the field of deep technology in creating their future projections in the areas of finance and investment.
The training was delivered by internationally experienced experts; Francesca Natali and Aykut Gülalanlar. The day was opened with welcoming speeches by Ege Teknopark General Manager Prof. Dr. Emre Ilker. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Ilker, gave information about the project and thanked the Ege University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Budak for his support and interest in the project. The programme continued with the speeches of Ege D-Tech Project Coordinator and Ege Teknopark Deputy General Manager Anıl Baybura and Project Incubation Expert Dr. Peter Mogyorosi.
The capacity building training programme will continue with the third training session titled “Startup Management and Applications” on 26 – 27 January 2022. The training will be held in English, under the moderation of international and national trainers who are experts in their field. Within the scope of the project, in addition to thematic training, events such as startup meeting days, networking events where corporate companies and startups will increase their interaction, and startup summits are planned in the upcoming period.
The Deep Technology Incubation Center (Ege D-Tech) Project, run by Ege Technopark, is carried out within the framework of the Competitive Sectors Program (RSP), co-financed by the Republic of Turkey and the European Union. The project, implemented with the participation of Ege University and the Aegean Young Businessmen Association (EGIAD), is planned to be completed in 3 years with a budget of 3 million Euros. Dozens of projects implemented within the scope of the Competitive Sectors Program carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey contribute to the creation of a more competitive and innovative ecosystem for entrepreneurs and SMEs in Turkey.
