“Startup Management and Practices” Training was held within the scope of Ege D-Tech Project Capacity Building Trainings!

Within the framework of the financial cooperation between the European Union and the Republic of Türkiye, as part of the Competitive Sectors Programme of the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkiye, the third and last of the Capacity Building Trainings specific to startups was held under the title of “Startup Management and Practices” within the scope of Ege D-Tech Project implemented by Ege Teknopark. The “Startup Management and Practices” training was organised on 26 – 27 January 2023, at Ege University AROM.

The training programme was carried out by experienced experts in their fields; Yasemin Eda Erdal and Paolo Franceschini. The training started with the briefing and opening speeches of Ege D-Tech Project Coordinator and Ege Technopark Deputy General Manager Anıl Baybura and Project Incubation Expert Dr Peter Mogyorosi.

Within the scope of the training programme, which is structured specifically for startups operating in the field of Deep Technology, the basic issues that entrepreneurs may need in the growth and globalisation processes are comprehensively addressed. On the first day, which started with interactive presentations by Yasemin Eda Erdal and Paolo Franceschini, national and international examples were discussed under the topics of Intellectual Property Rights, Technology Transfer and Strategy Planning. On the second day, which continued with a focus on practice, important topics such as Business Planning, Legal Framework and Team Management and Human Resources were examined in detail. In the training, where the participants carried out different applications with group work, the methods that startups can follow against many problems that they may encounter were discussed.

With the third and final training, the capacity building trainings tailored for startups came to an end. In the following periods of the project, activities such as startup meeting days, networking events where corporate companies and startups will increase their interaction, and startup summits are planned.

The Deep Technology Incubation Center (Ege D-Tech) Project, run by Ege Technopark, is carried out within the framework of the Competitive Sectors Program (RSP), co-financed by the Republic of Turkey and the European Union. The project, implemented with the participation of Ege University and the Aegean Young Businessmen Association (EGIAD), is planned to be completed in 3 years with a budget of 3 million Euros. Dozens of projects implemented within the scope of the Competitive Sectors Program carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey contribute to the creation of a more competitive and innovative ecosystem for entrepreneurs and SMEs in Turkey.
